About Joseph…

I was born and lived in North San Diego County. My first serious job was as a radio electronics repairman at the United States Marine Corps bases Camp Pendleton and El Toro.

My wife and our children moved to a coastal community in southwestern Los Angeles County, where I worked as a television and electronics repairman.

My BIG move was to enlist in the United States Air Force. I spent four years as an aerospace equipment technician with the 35th Tactical Fighter Wing, Republic F-105F/G Thunderchief – Wild Weasels

I was next assigned to the 58th Tactical Training Wing, McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II. I finished my Air Force career with the McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle

After leaving the USAF, I returned to college. In addition to my studies, I was the campus newspaper’s digital illustrator, a new technology and position at that time. I also operated my own security systems and electronics business.

Five years later, I was hired by America West Airlines Security Services. A little more than a year later, I was hired into Pilot Training as their computer graphics specialist. My next positions were pilot instructor, pilot instructor supervisor, and pilot training technology manager.

In 2005, AWA acquired US Airways and adopted US Airways as the new merged airline name.

In January 2007, I retired from US Airways after assisting in the merger of the pilot training departments.

I next connected with the Arizona motorcycle community. I joined the Modified Motorcycle Association of Arizona and held several officer positions.

In 2011, seven other motorcycle rights and safety supporters and I created the 501(c)(3) non-profit Arizona Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Foundation. AMSAF is the first and only program of its kind in the United States.

After four years of service to AMSAF, I vacated my position as Vice Chairman

Since retiring from US Airways and my volunteering for motorcycle and veteran groups, I like simply riding, driving, flying, flying drones, and fishing!
